Maai, lovingly called Gurumaai, is the spiritual guide and founder of Sambodhi. Her journey started when she was known as Sadhana, a curious seeker who always wanted to know the true meaning and purpose of life.

Born into an affluent family in Jalgaon, she was the fourth child. Her father was a farmer who later became a successful businessman. Her upbringing was steeped in spiritual heritage; her grandfather was a disciple of Sane Guruji, and her father being a devout follower of Swami Vivekananda and Ramkrishna Paramhansa. Her father a strict disciplinarian while her mother is a kind, gentle, and loving homemaker.

A pivotal moment in her youth came from observing her grandmother, who lived a life dedicated to worldly rituals and materialistic expectations (karmakand). This observation sparked a powerful realization in GuruMaai at a very young age: she knew with certainty that such a life was not her path.

Her spiritual destiny was affirmed when she was chosen by her Guru from a crowd of aspirants. At the tender age of eleven, during her very first meditation (Dhyan), she sat uninterrupted for five hours. This experience solidified her unwavering faith, and she embraced the principle of Guruvakya Kevalam—the Guru's word is ultimate.

While excelling in her worldly life as a successful interior designer working with top industry experts, she found that her true fulfillment came from meditation. Answering this inner calling, she left her career at its peak and dedicated herself fully to her spiritual practice. This included seven years of meditation in isolation and a six-month period of complete silence (moun). Her path was further illuminated by the blessings of Ramana Maharshi, Dada Maharaj, and Sai Baba, and enriched by the teachings of Osho. Through dedicated practice, her intuition and sixth sense grew profoundly strong. Through years of practice, blessings of her Guru, and deep meditation, GuruMaai received wisdom from her Guru. Today she is known as a Siddha Guru, helping people awaken their inner energy—called Kundalini Shakti—through the divine process of Shaktipat.

GuruMaai guides people with simple practices like Kriya Yoga, meditation, and self-inquiry. For the past twenty years, GuruMaai has guided countless disciples, helping them positively transform their lives. Her core teaching is to "Re-Search Yourself"—to meticulously analyze one's inner thoughts and feelings with kindness and acceptance. She lives by the maxim, “Maankar nahi, jaankar chalo,” which means, “Do not proceed by mere belief, but by experiential knowing.” For her, direct experience is the ultimate truth. Her wish is simple: that everyone should live with inner peace, simplicity, and joy, and together we can bring more love and harmony into this world.
